Preparing to run a race is more fun when you have a group to keep you motivated! Local running clubs offer scheduled fun runs, speed workouts and advice from members that will keep you on pace. Following are some running clubs in the northwest suburbs:

Race as a Twosome
This race gives you the opportunity to run with a friend as a team. So grab your neighbor, bestie, child or spouse and have fun pairing up to beat lung cancer!
Please register online at RunRace.net. Online registration closes at 10pm on Friday, November 3, 2017. Race day registration will be offered at the race venue for an increased price, and shirt availability will be limited to the sizes on hand.
Packet pickup will be located at Runners High ‘n Tri at 121 W. Campbell Street in Arlington Heights. Race packets include a race day bib, colorful shirt and other goodies. Race packets will be available for pick up during the following days and hours:
- Friday, November 3 from 12 pm to 7pm
- RACE DAY – Saturday, November 4 from 7:00am – 8:00am
If you can’t make it to the Packet Pickup, you’re welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your packet. Just be sure they come with a copy of your registration confirmation.
Plan for Parking
Streets along the race and walk route will be closed to traffic and parking prior to and during the race/walk. However, there are a number of covered or underground parking lots in downtown Arlington Heights that are near the race site and offer free parking:
Vail Avenue Garage
Entrance is on Vail Avenue or Highland Between Sigwalt and Campbell Streets
Entrance is on Evergreen Avenue between Miner and Eastman, or Eastman Street west of Arlington Heights Road
Entrance is on Sigwalt, east of Arlington Heights Road
The race site is just a short walk from the Arlington Heights Metra train station which is located at 45 W. Northwest Highway. The train line is the Metra Union Pacific Northwest.
Dressing for the Weather
If you’re looking for a new pair of athletic shoes or the perfect gear to keep you comfortable during the race or walk, the professionals at Runners High n’ Tri have over 25 years of experience and are happy to help. The race/walk will be held rain or shine! Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
There will not be a gear check station at the race site.
No refunds, no person-to-person transfers, rain checks or deferrals to a future year will be given. We understand that plans change, injuries happen, and situations arise, but, we feel it’s most fair to apply a uniform policy to everyone. All registrations are final. Refunds will not be issued based on weather conditions.
